16 dance brands team up for the Ukrainian Red Cross Crisis Appeal
The dance world has come together in a lot of ways to show support for the people of Ukraine. Danspiration Designs founder Almiria has teamed up with some incredible dance brands to offer a way for more people to donate and get involved.
Almiria shared, “since the start of the war in Ukraine, I have asked myself what I can do to help. Together with Ukrainian graphic designer Olga, who assists my small dance business, we created the artwork ‘Prayer’. I decided to donate a canvas artwork of Prayer for a fundraiser for Ukrainians in need, but it still seemed like such a small thing to do.
So I reached out to other dance brands to find out if they would be interested in joining us and the response was incredible! Fifteen companies responded, offering to sponsor prizes for our fundraiser.”
Through the fundraiser, there are now 2 grand prizes with a total value of over $900. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross, to assist Ukrainians in desperate need and provide life-saving supplies: https://redcross.org.ua/en/
Donations will be used to reach people in urgent need, including:
- Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines.
- Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities.
- Supporting firefighters and civil protection units.
- Training people in life-saving first aid.
- Helping families stay in contact with each other.
